Mission accomplished (again)!
The guys from Whosarmy have gained over 1000 followers since their Rethink Breast Cancer initiative was launched on October 20. It took just over one week for them to reach 2201 followers, and that number continues to grow. Great job guys-you should be so proud of what you are doing in helping to raise money for a great cause.
The fangirls only have one request: please give us a break now. We ended up in Twitter jail more times in the last week than ever before-no one was safe from us. We were coerced into following Bieliebers and Jonas Brothers fans in order to gain you followers. We got you RTs from athletes, musicians, and local celebrities. Please just let us enjoy our pictures now….
If you want to thank us, here are a few suggestions:
1) Starbucks, Starbucks, Starbucks-but not for a couple days because we are still trying to catch up on sleep.
2) We wouldn’t say no to a BSB/I’ll Never Break Your Heart inspired serenade from Travis.
3) After you are done rocking Cover Me Canada and JK asks you to join the European leg of the NKOTBSB tour-BRING US!
4) When you play your first show at the ACC remember that fangirls love front row seats.
Seriously though, you guys have to understand that being fangirl is like being part of a family. Our love for our bands is sometimes misunderstood or criticized but we wouldn’t have it any other way. The girls are always there for each other so it only makes sense that we are there for the bands that brought us together. I was only kidding about needing the break; you know that if you need us, we are only a tweet away.

Starbucks with a New Kid ... Almost.
Last Sunday Krys, Erica, Andrea and myself went to Toronto for Cover Me Canada. We arrived a little after 11am and met up with each other. Of course our first mission of the day was to catch the one and only Jordan Knight before he entered the CBC building.
It was around 1130 and we decided we'd go to Starbucks because Jordan usually doesn't show up until around 1pm. So, we walked over to Starbucks and ordered our Pumpkin Spice Latte's. (Yum!) Instead of waiting around we decided we'd walk back to CBC. As we cross the street and start walking up the sidewalk, we see a white van pulling up. Of course we all start speaking at once "Is that Jordan?" .. "That is Jordan's driver." .. "That is so Jordan I can tell.."
Sure enough, Mr Stingy himself pops out of the van. Krys decides she'd walk in front of him, not letting him get away, asking if he'd take a photo with us. He said sure and stopped for individual photos with the four of us. He looked tired but he was so sweet to stop.
I think I speak for the four of us when I say the best part of the meeting went something like this:
(Kelly walks up for her photo)
Erica: Kell, would you like to take off your sunglasses?
Jordan: *looks at Kelly* You really don't have to take them off if you don't want too, shes just bossy.
FYI - Erica was not being bossy, she was just looking out for me. She knew after I took the photo I would have been upset because my sunglasses were still on. So thank you hun I appreciate it :)
No lie, this really happened. We all started laughing. It was pretty hysterical. Definitely a memory we will never forget.
He showed up a few minutes before noon. If we had shown up 2minutes later coming from Starbucks we def would have missed him. I think we got this down. We make good timing ;)
After we got our photos, Jordan went inside. Suddenly, all we hear is Erica "WE COULD HAVE HAD STARBUCKS WITH A NEW KID." We all started freaking out. Those of you within our mini fangirl family totally understand what that means. For those of you that don't, it all started with this photo.
So, needless to say, our mission of Starbucks with the NKOTB or just a NK, whichever comes first, is still in effect.
I'm pretty sure that meeting with Jordan will go down in our fangirl history. We had an amazing day.
Now for some photos.

Update on the Fangirls Uniting to Fight Breast Cancer
Mission accomplished ladies!
The guys from @CMC_WhosArmy set a goal of getting to 1701 followers by October 28, but we fangirls knew that we could do better than that. It only took four days to get them to that number and that means $500 to Rethink Breast Cancer. Now, the fangirls can finally get some rest…literally as I am not sure how much most of us slept during those four days.
I think we deserve a reward. How about a pic like this to enjoy?
But wait…we just found out that they have found someone who will match their donation if they can get another 500 followers. Don’t your hands just hurt at the thought of more tweeting? But I know that the guys can depend on my fellow fangirls-we never back down from a challenge.
So our new goal is to get @CMC_WhosArmy to 2201 followers. We have already shown them what fangirls can do; we can’t let them down this time. You know what to do ladies: get on the Twittah and spread some love for the guys and help raise money for a great cause.
All NKOTB fans know that this is a cause that we hold close to our hearts. Help support @CMC_WhosArmy like I know we can-click, click, click that follow button.

Fangirls Unite to Fight Breast Cancer
We fangirls understand the importance of breast cancer research and support for those affected. How many of us bought some (and by some, I obviously mean A LOT) of Danny’s raffle tickets over the summer? We know how hard he works to raise awareness and we wanted to do everything we could to help him. Just a few weeks ago, NKOTB fans across the country walked to raise money and awareness for the cause. Two of our local groups-Team Betty Toronto and Team Betty London- even got some twitter love from Danny that day.
Now here’s your chance to help raise money and awareness again-all you have to do is follow @CMC_WhosArmy on twitter. For every new follower they get, the guys will donate $1 to Rethink Breast Cancer (http://rethinkbreastcancer.com/). Their goal is to reach $500 by October 28, 2011-so let’s get them to 1701 followers. Not only will you be helping to raise money for a great cause, you will also be supporting a great band in the process.
Let’s show the guys from WhosArmy what fangirls can do-click those follow buttons ladies.

Let’s set a few things straight about fangirl stereotypes
1) Never call us crazy-we hate that.
2) Don’t get a fangirl on your bad side-you mess with one of us, you will have to deal with the others.
3) Fangirls talk-remember that before you say something about us.
4) We are not naïve-we will not let people take advantage of us in any situation.
5) We are highly intelligent-between this group of fangirls we speak four languages and have multiple college diplomas and university degrees.
Remember this before you judge us and our love for these bands.
We have nine brothers and a million sisters. Don’t criticize us just because you weren’t invited to the family reunion.

You are just asking for trouble…
Readers of this blog know that the worst thing you can ask a fangirl to do is choose between NKOTB and BSB. (Actually, the worst thing you could do is mention that other 90’s boyband. The group that most of us went to see in 1998 because JK was opening for them-but that is for another day). We spent our childhoods with NKOTB before BSB stole our teenaged hearts. If you ask a fangirl this question, be ready, because you are looking for trouble.
So imagine our surprise when our new fangirl crushes asked this very question on Twitter. The response was instantaneous-"WhosArmy, this could get ugly." Obviously, we knew the guys were joking around, but as any fangirl knows this is not a topic we take lightly. Who hasn’t spent hours discussing the pros and cons of picking one over the other? This is the very reason that we went absolutely crazy over the tour in the summer-we didn’t have to choose between them, all of our men were there. I know that the guys of WhosArmy want to talk to fans on Twitter, but were they really ready for this? If you thought that we tweeted fast before, just wait to see what happens when you mention those men to us.
Just when we thought we couldn’t love these guys any more, Max said that his favourite NKOTB song was Hangin Tough. Not only is he talking about the New Kids, he now has us picturing them in those Celtics jerseys-well done on his part. Then he tweets "we're gonna consummate, so let's coversate"-timeline explosion. Was he really listening to Sexify my Love? Cue every single fangirl tweeting the lyrics back at him-including this group’s favourite "I don't care where we are, on the hood of my car, out in public making love in the streets, All alone, back at home, we can do anything you want, I'll give you heaven while we mess up the sheets." Not that we need an excuse to think like this, but suddenly our fangirl crushes have grown and our BBM conversation that night was not about the guys from NKOTBSB, but about WhosArmy.
So keep up the good work guys, you certainly know how to get fangirls excited. You keep tweeting about how hot you are after rehearsal and about breaking drum sticks because you are hitting too hard and you will never get rid of us. Fellow fangirls, make sure you are following @CMC_WhosArmy-you won’t be disappointed, trust me. By the way, their response to the debate was: "So it’s pretty much unanimous, and that makes NKOTB larger than life"-how can we not love that?

Can you understand us? Fangirl Speak 101
As we have mentioned in our previous posts, we fangirls have our own vocabulary. To outsiders, many of the things we say may look or sound like nonsense, but fangirls everywhere understand our language. The best part of our vocabulary is that it carries over from twitter and bbm to our real life conversations with each other.
3) If you counted the number of times we “almost died,” “am dying”, or are “dead” – we have more lives than a cat.
4) WE GOT THIS We say this a lot. What is it exactly that we “got”? That is for fangirls to know, and others to want to know. ;)
5) Of course there are words/phrases in our fangirl vocab that we HATE to hear. The most hated word for us is “soon”. We don’t want “soon”, we want “right now". “Soon” doesn’t work for us boys, so try being more specific.
Every fangirl group has their own specifc words and phrases that are unique, and reflect the experiences you have had together. It is the small things like this that make fangirling fun, and solidify the sisterhood we share. For us, Rest Stop 41 (which you have seen many times in this blog) serves as a reminder of a weekend full of memories that will last a lifetime.
1) Let me clarify that we use “fangirl” in many different ways.
· “These fangirls are not BSC”
· “I was fangirling hard after I met Joey” *this is for you Ash*
· “She is a devoted Nick fangirl”
2) Most statements we make get one of the following responses from other fangirls:
· Truth (Fangirl 1: No one gets us like we get each other Fangirl 2: Truth)
· Right (Fangirl 1: Angry JK is hot! Fangirl 2: Right?!)
· Word (Fangirl 1: We need another NKOTBSB tour Fangirl 2: Word)
· This! (Fangirl 1: Everyone needs to watch Blue Bloods on Friday Fangirl 2: This!)
· Love (Fangirl 1: Getting HUMPed by Donnie made my day. Fangirl 2: Love)
· Hearts (Fangirl 1: Did you see Jon’s tweet? Fangirl 2: Hearts)
The first lesson in fangirl speak is complete. If it makes sense to you - welcome to the club.

The Fangirls are having a really, really, really, really good time...
There was a wave of excitement in our fangirl group when we found out that Jordan was going to be on Cover Me Canada. We are still recovering from our post NKOTBSB concert depression and the thought of even one of those fabulous men being so close made us go into full fangirl mode. Obviously, we were going, but how did we get tickets? Thankfully, our beloved Twittah gave us all the answers we needed (seriously ladies, what would we do without it?). Plans were made and off we went to go see JK judge (that’s right JUDGE, not perform-the things we do for these guys) some of Canada’s best new bands.
Looking at the line-up of people waiting to get in, it was fairly obvious who we were there to see. If there is one thing that NKOTB fans do perfectly, it is take over any event that includes one of the guys. We were there to see Jordan-we knew it, the organizers knew it, and he definitely knew it. The funny thing is if you watch clips of Jordan talking, the combined air time is about 4 minutes. Yes, you saw that correctly-but you know that we didn’t care. We enjoyed all four minutes of that sexy Boston accent-who didn’t swoon when he said "you got to get the jittahs out."
But something happened during the past three weeks to shift our attention away from JK (I know-hard to believe, but true). We have developed new fangirl crushes on one of the bands-the guys from WhosArmy have stolen a piece of our hearts. It started with their first performance on the show and then spilled onto the Twittah (@CMC_WhosArmy). These guys are really talented and are super sweet and appreciative to the fans-they definitely have the votes of these fangirls.
These guys just might be the cure for our post NKOTBSB tour depression. Don’t worry Jordan, you know that we'll be loving you forever, but for the next few weeks we are going to raise a little hell with WhosArmy.
