(A)live for the very first time…since winning Cover Me Canada.

This past Friday, the fangirls pushed the limits of personal space/need for sleep/number of outlets for flat irons and asked the question how many fangirls can you fit into one hotel room?

When we found out that Whosarmy was doing a show in TO, we responded in typical fangirl style-not “are we going?” but “where do we get tickets?” There was never a doubt that we were going. The girls had decided that we were going to use this opportunity to celebrate a little because we hadn’t had a chance to really do that since Cover Me Canada ended (which was a Sunday so it couldn’t be done properly anyway). Our celebrations started around 7 and let’s just say that fangirls+alcohol+twitter =trouble. Lucky for us, the guys from Whosarmy are easy going and not easily offended. (Note: we re-read our tweets later and they really weren’t that bad-so proud of us ladies). What happened between the hotel and getting to the show was quite the adventure: it included a possibly sprained ankle, actually getting asked for ID and not being able to find it, spilled drinks and subsequent drying under the hand dryer. What better way to celebrate at dinner than with a shot…or 2…or 3. Now that I think about it, this may have been the reason that the waiter got a slightly larger than average tip...

Eventually though, we made it to the El Mocambo and we were so excited to see Whosarmy. We have obviously seen them week after week on Cover Me Canada, but now they were actually doing a whole set. We loved them on the show doing covers for 90 seconds, but this was a real set of their originals and we couldn’t wait. They started with "Maggie’s Alright" and "Automatic Baby", which are favourites among the fangirls, and we absolutely loved it. The guys had been hinting all week on twitter that they would be playing one of their CMC songs but we didn’t know which one. So somebody, somebody, somebody, somebody please ask me how much we loved that it was "Lonely Boy". Could not love their version any more, it is just amazing. "No Mystery" and "Revolution Girl" were also great (seriously, if you do not have their album yet, you need to get it ASAP). Their last song of the night was their new single “Alive” and they just rocked it.
Not only is the song great, but you can tell that the guys are really proud of it and love playing it. Their set was amazing and the fangirls were definitely singing along the whole time.

(By the way, "Alive" is available on iTunes now ;) http://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/alive-cover-me-canada-performance/id480317419 …you really need to get this song. Trust me.)

I know that it has been said before, but these guys are more than just great musicians. It means a lot when a band truly respects and appreciates their fans. They really are genuine and we love them so much for it. We can’t wait to see the music video for “Alive”, hear the new songs, and hopefully see them again soon.

To the guys of Whosarmy: your dedication and hard work is admirable and just know that you have the love and respect of the fans. We will always be there to support you and the fangirls wish you nothing but the best with everything. ♥

Will the AMAs ever be the same?

One year ago today, we were glued to our TV screens waiting for the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys joint performance on the AMAs. The tour had already been announced, and we were waiting for this sneak peak of what it would offer. As true fangirls, we watched the entire show because we didn't want to risk missing the performance. Finally, the last performance of the night was introduced - this is when the tweets and facebook updates began. The mashup of their hits had everyone singing along. This was the beginning of an amazing year for us - full of concerts, meet and greets, roadtrips, and memories. There is one line that sums up this performance for us (and you all know what it is)...

All you people, can't you see, can't you see...N-K-O-T-B-S-B...

@ItsNoMystery…the fangirls love Whosarmy

I know that you guys can appreciate how much we fangirls love our twitter. Now, be ready for the highest honour any fangirl can bestow on her favourite guys-incorporating you into their handle. I am sure that you have seen some boyband based names already-usually using a song lyric or reference to a particular member. As your number of followers continues to grow, here are some possible twitter names for your fans…don’t laugh; you know that it will happen eventually.

Since one of your songs already has a girl’s name in it, you can assume that there will be a large amount of @______sAlright handles-that is a given. There is also the possibility of @Max/Travis/Cory/GregsRevolutionGirl or AutomaticBaby-those ones are fairly obvious. Fair warning though, fangirls don’t hold back-some of these names could get a little, let’s say, suggestive. I won’t give anyone ideas, but I know there are some good ones out there.

Be ready guys and don’t say that the fangirls didn’t warn you.

P.S. Who is more addicted-the fangirls or the band?

Much Love to Travis, Greg, Cory, and Max...xoxo

The last weekend of Cover Me Canada is fast approaching and the fangirls are working their hardest to get Whosarmy Canada's vote. I have never seen my timeline move so fast-and that includes times when Donnie is twugging or JK is getting people. We have landed ourselves in twittah jail more times than we can even count-at this point it is just assumed that if one of us disappears for a while, that is where we are.

Just a few weeks ago, there was a post that said the fangirls were having a really, really, really, really good time with the show. Part of the reason for that was our new fangirl crushes-Whosarmy. We were so impressed with them that first week and they have not disappointed us at all. Now, they have reached the finale-which is a result that we fangirls could have predicted. We never doubted for a second that they would make it-we have faith in the bands that we pick.

I don’t think that the guys from Whosarmy knew what to expect when they were first introduced to the fangirls. We have been doing this for years-we know what we are capable of, but they were new to this world. Just understand guys that a fangirl's love for a band is simple-when you feel a connection to a band, you just know.We may be misunderstood at times but our love is always genuine and pure-we have no hidden agenda. That is why we have no problem tweeting, sharing your video, and voting for you over and over; we just want to help as much as we can. Contrary to what people might think, we don’t do these things for every band out there. Before you guys, this blog was dedicated solely to the men of NKOTBSB –the same guys that have been with us almost all our lives.

So what started out as a fangirl crush has definitely grown into fangirl love. You guys make it so easy for us to love and support you-we have never met anyone who is so appreciative of their fans. So regardless of what happens on Sunday, just know that we will always be there for you. We love our five bad brothers from the Beantown land and know how to Keep the Backstreet Pride Alive-now we proudly say that the Troops will support Whosarmy for life.

New Mission: Help Whosarmy get Immunity (again)

We got them over 1000 followers in one week.

We helped them raise money for Rethink Breast Cancer.

Result: Immunity from the judges on Cover Me Canada.

This week’s fangirl mission is to help them get immunity again. So keep spreading the word about these guys-follow them on twitter, check out their page on Facebook, watch their videos on YouTube, and vote for them every day.

As an added treat: check out this blog written by @CMC_WhosArmy Totally worth reading! Trust me-they are AMAZING!
