The fangirls’ decision to go Whosarmy’s show this past weekend started with a conversation like this:
Fangirl 1: "They have a show at the end of January!"
Fangirl 2: "I saw that! Where is Cannington?"
Fangirl 3: "I don’t know, but I already bought all of us tickets."
So after a trip to Starbucks and a leap of faith in our GPS, the fangirls made it to Cannington. "Maggie’s Alright" is one of our favourites so we were very excited when they started with that one. Check out this video to see just how awesome they were on this song.
They also sang a few songs from Cover Me Canada, including the fangirl favourite "Lonely Boy". Just ask the guys how great we sounded singing along to "Alive". "We were an earthquaaaake, we made the world shaaaake…" Their encore was a cover of U2 and it sounded incredible. With all due respect to U2 and the amazing band that they are, the fangirls would take Travis over Bono any day.
The highlight of the night was definitely the new songs. The guys had said they were going to play new songs and we were very excited to hear them. There is nothing better than hearing a song being played live for the first time. If it is even possible, the fangirls are now even more excited for the new album. Bring it on guys!
The fangirls had a great time and the band was amazing, so the road trip was a successful one. I didn’t even mention yet that the show was sold out-how amazing is that? So a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Whosarmy!
If you missed this show, don't worry, they have another show on February 18. That's right, the day after JK, his falsetto, and his V-neck t-shirts are in TO. It seems kind of fitting that these shows would be so close together; it was JK and Cover Me Canada that brought us to Whosarmy. We will let you know how the back-to-back shows go…wish us luck.

THE song of 2011.

In case you missed it…how the fangirls became members of The Troops.
This is the performance that started it all.
Our fangirl instincts were right…
This is just hot. "Come on down to my place baby, We'll talk about love..."
It is about this point that the fangirls started to fall in love.
This is when we knew we were in love. No doubt about it.
I guarantee you watch this more than once-you know that the fangirls have. Some of us may have also made it our ringtone (and as a result, missed a call or two).
IMMUNITY! Not that they needed it with this performance.
Just listen...
...how awesome are they?
*Fangirls down*
If you haven’t seen this yet, you need to. Seriously, watch it now.
Are you in love yet?
Why am I even asking? Of course you are. ♥

If only our lives were like a music video…
The ballad that was written only for you.
The song that still makes you weak in the knees.
The one that makes you want to dance.
The song that made you feel 15 again.
THE song. The one that makes you proud to be a fan.The one that you love to hear in concert. The one that completes your fangirl life.

(A)live for the very first time…since winning Cover Me Canada.
This past Friday, the fangirls pushed the limits of personal space/need for sleep/number of outlets for flat irons and asked the question how many fangirls can you fit into one hotel room?
When we found out that Whosarmy was doing a show in TO, we responded in typical fangirl style-not “are we going?” but “where do we get tickets?” There was never a doubt that we were going. The girls had decided that we were going to use this opportunity to celebrate a little because we hadn’t had a chance to really do that since Cover Me Canada ended (which was a Sunday so it couldn’t be done properly anyway). Our celebrations started around 7 and let’s just say that fangirls+alcohol+twitter =trouble. Lucky for us, the guys from Whosarmy are easy going and not easily offended. (Note: we re-read our tweets later and they really weren’t that bad-so proud of us ladies).
What happened between the hotel and getting to the show was quite the adventure: it included a possibly sprained ankle, actually getting asked for ID and not being able to find it, spilled drinks and subsequent drying under the hand dryer. What better way to celebrate at dinner than with a shot…or 2…or 3. Now that I think about it, this may have been the reason that the waiter got a slightly larger than average tip...
Eventually though, we made it to the El Mocambo and we were so excited to see Whosarmy. We have obviously seen them week after week on Cover Me Canada, but now they were actually doing a whole set. We loved them on the show doing covers for 90 seconds, but this was a real set of their originals and we couldn’t wait. They started with "Maggie’s Alright" and "Automatic Baby", which are favourites among the fangirls, and we absolutely loved it. The guys had been hinting all week on twitter that they would be playing one of their CMC songs but we didn’t know which one. So somebody, somebody, somebody, somebody please ask me how much we loved that it was "Lonely Boy". Could not love their version any more, it is just amazing. "No Mystery" and "Revolution Girl" were also great (seriously, if you do not have their album yet, you need to get it ASAP). Their last song of the night was their new single “Alive” and they just rocked it.
Not only is the song great, but you can tell that the guys are really proud of it and love playing it. Their set was amazing and the fangirls were definitely singing along the whole time.
(By the way, "Alive" is available on iTunes now ;) http://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/alive-cover-me-canada-performance/id480317419 …you really need to get this song. Trust me.)
I know that it has been said before, but these guys are more than just great musicians. It means a lot when a band truly respects and appreciates their fans. They really are genuine and we love them so much for it. We can’t wait to see the music video for “Alive”, hear the new songs, and hopefully see them again soon.
To the guys of Whosarmy: your dedication and hard work is admirable and just know that you have the love and respect of the fans. We will always be there to support you and the fangirls wish you nothing but the best with everything. ♥

Will the AMAs ever be the same?
One year ago today, we were glued to our TV screens waiting for the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys joint performance on the AMAs. The tour had already been announced, and we were waiting for this sneak peak of what it would offer. As true fangirls, we watched the entire show because we didn't want to risk missing the performance. Finally, the last performance of the night was introduced - this is when the tweets and facebook updates began. The mashup of their hits had everyone singing along. This was the beginning of an amazing year for us - full of concerts, meet and greets, roadtrips, and memories. There is one line that sums up this performance for us (and you all know what it is)...
All you people, can't you see, can't you see...N-K-O-T-B-S-B...
